Welcome Fans

I know there has been a lot of talk about Willa not being outgoing and friendly with her fans; this is not true. She's just one who values her privacy. She does respond to tweets on Twitter on occasion and is always very nice when she does. She's also into music/acting for the love of music/acting itself, not for the money or fame. She's a real musician/actress, and is passionate about it, and that's one reason I look up to her. She's real and not fake like a lot of these musicians and actors out there now.Willa also does interior design as well now,her work is amazing!

To answer a question I've asked several times by email and by friends about why I'm a Willa Ford fan

I guess you can say I'm going on the defensive for Willa ,like my two cents will count for much, but anyway,I've been asked several times why are you a fan of Willa?,she's not very nice to her fans,I posted in this before, but once again let me explain, First of all she is very busy,if you've noticed she has been showing up at lots of events, and also been busy with Magic City, and I'm sure working on her music as well.she is on twitter, but not all the time, when one is very sociable, you cant expect them to live on twitter and respond to every tweet sent, yes, I have gotten responses, but its not like everyday, but when I do,shes always nice, anyway if you read my intro to the blog,I give another explanation, I'm quite sure she appreciates us,the fans, but she just values her privacy, and I respect that, and another reason I'm a fan,is because shes real, she writes her on stuff, and is in the business of music and acting because she loves it .More interaction would be nice yes,but again, I can understand why she don't or can't(time and privacy). maybe one day she will have time to drop by the blog, but no matter what,I will always remain a loyal fan..

  1. People forget, she had it REALLY rough in the beginning. She had a middle-aged stalker sending her threats, she would go to performances with people shouting obscenities at her, holding awful signs, she had numerous anti-sites against her, all because of who she was dating! She actually had people come up to her and be openly hostile at events and invade her privacy. Some really vicious rumors were spread about her and she had virtually no support (except from her fan base, and they too were openly attacked, one faced hacking and was openly ridiculed on anti-sites). To say it was a hostile time is a HUGE understatement. I don't think she ever fully recovered when it comes to associating with people outside the entertainment industry. She's a very sociable girl, but very private with her personal life, especially since she married Mike. She's denied several requests for lifestyle based reality shows (at least one Newly-weds type of show, A-List Dallas, and the Real Housewives of Dallas).

She likes to focus on her friends, charities, and work. She commutes a lot from Dallas to L.A., New York, and Miami, which can wear a person out. Right now she's working on a new album with a new band (which means rehearsing, meetings, song writing, etc), going to auditions, going to events, and still trying to maintain a home life with friends (both celebrity and non) and Mike. Just because a person isn't on tour, or doing a film doesn't mean they can't have a very active lifestyle. She seems to really try to make time to spend with her friends when she's not networking (which is a BIG part of show business). I believed she once interviewed that she spent 3 hours a day just working out (3 HOURS). She's been very nice to both me and Willa4rdFan when she is able to respond. Just because she doesn't spend all freakin' day twittering doesn't mean she hates her fans. She WORKS and has a LIFE.

And let's be honest, a lot of the people that are complaining haven't tried to tweet her maybe once or twice (usually not at all, I know because I follow her and can see exactly who tweets to her, and she actually doesn't get a lot of fan tweeting, even in the beginning). I have seen her reply (or re-tweet upon request) about 1/3 of the time. For having over 10,000 followers, that really says something.

As for other celebs, there are some like Kat Graham who are extremely accessible to her fans, and that's great. But most celebs (the really big name ones certainly) have someone else run their twitter for them. It's part of their marketing. Many have so many freakin' followers it is absurd to think they could ever keep up with all the replies and questions, and couldn't answer very many even if they were very active in tweeting. Twitter is more than for just socializing, it's a marketing strategy for many, many celebrities, so often even if you get a reply, you aren't really even talking to the celeb, just someone pretending/representing them.

  2. With Willa, her twitter is her own. She doesn't use it for marketing herself (which she really should). She uses it to connect with her friends and loved ones, a likes to give occasional updates to her fans (like most ordinary people, she actually uses it to socialize with her friends and network). I think it's kind of refreshing that unlike many musicians, she doesn't consider herself a brand, but a person. She loves her life very much, is very blessed, and who could blame her for wanting to spend her free time enjoying it? She's never been hostile to a fan, is very sweet in person, to both her fans and Mike's (I've read so many good things from Modano's fans who have met her in person, many love her). So, yeah, it would be great if it was easier to get in touch with her, but to hate on her for not being twitter obsessed is absurd. If someone has an issue, fine, but I sure haven't seen a whole lot of fans trying to reach out to her, particularly on this issue. I sure see people being extra proactive at complaining though.
